Menstruation/Women's Health

Planned Parenthood Federation of America: Planned Parenthood is a good place to go for low cost medical exams and counseling on birth control. This site has lots of information on pregnancy, birth control, STD's and much more. They also have an extensive list of health/sexuality related links.

Bleed is one woman's menstrual diary. Live the reality!.

The Yeast Infection Homepage is a funny, no-nonsense site explaining yeast infections and describing home cures. HIghly recommended. Let's just say I smell like garlic as I type this.

S.P.O.T. : a great site to check out about the dangers of the chlorine bleached/rayon infested tampons sold by the major brands.

The Museum of Menstruation. This is a fun site maintained by a guy named Harry Finley. who runs an actual Museum of Menstruation. He has pictures of old fashioned tampons, pads, and sponges, as well as news and notes on menstruation from all over the place.

The Endometriosis Association International Headquarters runs a site all about edometriosis, something you should check out if you suffer from bad cramps and other strange symptoms around your period. One of their branches is The Ednometriosis Association Houston Support Group, which maintains a good page with a mailing list.

Power Surge is a supportive site for women going into menopause.

Activism

The Feminist Majority Foundation maintains a huge site with lots of different information on activism, politics, news, and health. Get involved! They also have an extensive listing of links.

New Moon and Blue Jeans are magazines written for and by girls as an alternative to the bonehead hair and make-up oriented magazines (you know which ones I'm talking about). Use their web sites to find out more about these magazines and where you can get them.

Commerical Sites

Natracare is a company that makes all-cotton/ safely bleached tampons. They have a great list of links to sites relating to women's health.

Eco-Logique, Inc. is a site that can give you information on both The Keeper, a menstrual cup, and cloth pads.

Many Moons Alternative Menstrual Products is a small company run by four women also offering cloth pads, the Keeper and single-use pads.

Terra Femme makes all-cotton/safely bleached tampons and maintains an activism oriented website.

GladRags Cotton Menstrual Pads is another good source for cloth pads

The Endometriosis Care Center is a clinic for treating endometriosis. This site has lots of information on endometriosis. See above for other endo sites.
